Two Tombs, One Empty

It’s a great irony that archaeologists have discovered the remains of Caiaphas son of Joseph, the high priest who ruled at the time of Christ’s ministry, the man who personally oversaw the first of three mock trials of Jesus, effectively orchestrating all that followed. Why? Because there’s another tomb in Jerusalem that has no remains. That tomb was used for a few short days by the One Who was sentenced to death by Caiaphas, Jesus of Nazareth.

Caiaphas, the so-called high priest, died and is buried in the ground. Jesus, God’s true and final High Priest, rose again, ascended to glory, and is at the right hand of the Father where He makes intercession for the saints even at this very moment.

May your Easter be blessed with joy in the risen Saviour!
