Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

I believe this is one of the hardest lessons to learn, but the easiest to forget. We like treasures, whether we want to admit it or not. Our treasures come in different forms: money, jewelry, cars, houses, to name a few. No what matter it is we treasure, as long as it is upon the earth it will go away one day. There will be a last time we see those things we’ve had, have now, or will have. It is good to have things and be content, for God does bless us with earthly blessings as well as heavenly. Our treasure should be the heavenly blessings, the rest are temporal blessings that can be taken away, but will go away no matter what. We should invest our earthly treasures in servitude of our Master, for him to use as he will. The return will be far greater than any we can possibly obtain ourselves.
