Your body continually creates new cells, replacing the ones that have died off. Since your cells are all new, you would think that the body remain perpetually young. But it doesn't, does it?
Why not? The cells are all new. Yet your body is aging, and bears the marks of age at an increasing rate until you die and your body produces no more new cells but returns to dust.
The answer is simple - sin.
Our bodies wax old because of sin. In the self same day that Adam sinned, he died a death in trespasses and in sins. It took hundreds of years for his body to finally die, but that process began with sin. James 1 says sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. It slowly takes its toll on our bodies until they cease to function.
The spiritual condition of sin causes the dreadful effect of aging and the breaking down of our physical bodies. Spiritual affects physical.
