|Train Up a Child|

The following is a great quote on the importance of raising our children in the Church. My mind has been on this thought since visiting Bethlehem PBC this past weekend, as they have many children in the congregation being actively raised in the church.
Proverbs 22:6 says: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
"I had the opportunity to spend ten years pastoring a church the Florida Panhandle. During this time we had many young people who attended and eventually joined the church. The parents who took Proverbs 22:6 and other passages pertaining to raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord seriously still have their adult children as an active part of the church. Those who placed more value on other things (education, materialism, recreation, etc.) do not. There are exceptions to this, but the 'fruit' of gospel obedience indeed supports the promise of Proverbs 22." - Michael Green, Jr
