|Two reasons God created Marriage|

Two reasons why God created the institution of marriage:
1) To grant companionship. It was not good that man, Adam, should be alone. Marriage is God's gift of friendship and fellowship for a lifetime. Genesis 2:18
2) To populate the earth and subdue it. Genesis 1:28
Within this boundary intimacy is special and to be enjoyed (Hebrews 13:4). Behaviors such as fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and polygamy are wrong because they reject this gift, God's ordained structure, and the responsibility of perpetuating human kind.
Even worse, for a believer to reject this order is to blaspheme the word of God (Titus 2:5). How so? In a Divine Mystery, marriage depicts the relationship between Christ and His espoused Bride, His chosen people. When we don't strive to replicate this system within our personal lives we trample under foot the very work of Christ in salvation.
