Last night at High Hill Church, I tried to speak on the three institutions God established in the earth: The family, government, and the church. Each of these three have their own, distinct jurisdictions.

After service, another preacher and I were speaking about how the preamble to the United States Constitution demonstrates that our founders had a definite knowledge of this fact. Notice how their words reflect the scriptural pattern:

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America."

Justice is indeed the prosecution of evil. Domestic tranquility is one and the same with living a quiet and peaceable life. These men understood their role as rulers.

Presently, many of our elected officials spend more time bloviating their rhetorical bullet points than they do actually working for solutions to defend citizens from evil. We're no less guilty, judging by the content posted on social media sites. In this chaotic time, the Body of Christ should be ever engaged in intercessory prayer for our leaders, that they be given the wisdom necessary to judge righteously to the defense of innocence within their borders. Also, at every opportunity, we must share the truth of this and any other biblical concept in love, to the influence of our culture and leaders. May the Lord raise up today's version of a Joseph or Daniel from among us, to provide wisdom and deliverance.
